The article presents a study devoted to the comparative analysis of the perception of daily stress among residents of St. Petersburg and Arkhangelsk, comparison of the structure of perceived stressors and coping strategies, as well as the study of the relationship of daily stressors with coping behavior in residents of the two cities. The study involved residents of St. Petersburg (237 people) and Arkhangelsk (151 people). A total of 388 adults aged 20-60. The study used the following methods: to study the stressors of everyday life was used "Inventory of daily stressors" (Petrash, etc., 2018); the level of stressful tension was determined using Scale of Perceived Stress-10 (FWS) (V.A. Ababkov, etc., 2016); to study of personality variables used 4 factor the 16-factor questionnaire by R. Cattell (adapted by A.N. Kapustina, 2001), the questionnaire USC by J. Rotter (adapted by E.F. Bazhin et al., 1993); the questionnaire of coping strategies Lazarus (adaptation T.L. Krukova, E.V. Cuttack) and the survey. An expressed level of perceived everyday stressors has been revealed in all the spheres of life under consideration, which confirms the data on the stressfulness of various areas of human’s life. The greatest number of stressors is found in the professional sphere, which indicates the high importance of this sphere for an adult. It is revealed that for residents of Arkhangelsk the family sphere is more saturated with stressors, for residents of St. Petersburg-financial. In the group of respondents from Arkhangelsk, personal characteristics are less involved in the assessment of stressors than in the group of respondents from St. Petersburg. The study of coping strategies showed that the most pronounced coping strategies in both groups are: "self-checking", "positive rethinking" and "planning solutions to problems"; the least pronounced coping strategy is "acceptance of responsibility".
