The author argues that the traditional description of grammar relating to each of the levels of competence in the Russian language as a foreign language should be supplemented by lists of sentence patterns in the model of lexical content, which serve as a verbalization of a) situations of reality, b) each functional and semantic type of speech, c) corresponding to the level of genre and stylistic varieties. The author gives his own examples of such representation of grammatical material.
