The artistic worlds of A. Platonov and V. Nabokov are radically different, it seems that it is impossible to find anything in common between them. However, both writers put deep philosophical ideas into their works, which reveal similarities. For Platonov and Nabokov man is a mysterious, infinite being, which is not reduced to its ordinary appearance. The task of man is to reveal his divine, superhuman abilities and to subdue the surrounding reality to his will in order to transform it into a more perfect state. In these philosophical views Platonov and Nabokov follow the traditions of F. Dostoevsky.
