The publication reveals for the first time the content of
the letters of the Russian military engineer N. V. Luknitsky, dated 1868–
1870. They reflect the perception of the young officer of his move from St.
Petersburg, service in the Kerch fortress, stay in the urban environment of
Kerch. They also describe the state of Sevastopol 13 years after the end of
the Crimean campaign.
