Many studies of Russian media are currently presented in the branch of scientific discourse, there is no
systematization of knowledge about media influence and its role in the formation of harmonious relations in such areas
as «personality – society», «society – power». The urgent need for psychological studies of media influence is caused by
the need to ensure national security. Media is actively used as an» information « weapon, as a means of management, as
a sphere of relaxation and self-realization. This multi-functionality allows us to consider the media as a special factor in
the development of socio-political processes. In the context of increasing geopolitical risks, media images make the reality
of crisis situations of different levels very likely. The formation of the image in the media in the domestic political context
has its own specifics and can have both constructive and destructive impact on the people of the country, as well as affect
the future of Russia
