The article focuses on stereotypes about aristocracy in the modern British press. The main goal of the work is to reveal the content of the most common stereotypes about aristocracy and means of their expression. As the study has shown, both auto- and heterostereotypes about aristocracy are numerous and varied. They are distinguished by emotional and evaluative content, and positive assessments are more likely to occur in autostereotypes, while heterostereotypes can be evaluated both negatively and positively. The identified stereotypes indicate the adoption of the class system with all its flaws by the British and attitude to aristocracy as a reference group.
