The article explores the features of the functioning of the word chisto in nominative combinations. The analysis was based on the material of the user subcorpus created on the basis of the Corpus of Spoken Russian of the Russian National Corpus and the Sound Corpus of the Russian Language “One Speaker’s Day”. The analysis allows us to clarify the understanding of the word chisto as a bounding particle offered by the Аcademic dictionary. In oral speech it functions as a kind of the opposite to markers of vague nomination. To denote this function, the concept of a marker of the "exact" nomination is introduced. Markers of vague / exact nomination in oral speech intersect with referencing processes - they are the signals of the speaker's unsuccessful / successful referential choice. Specificity of the referential conformity / nonconformity of the chosen naming way is the conditionality by the communicative settings of the speaker but not the definiteness / indefiniteness of the object of speech to the interlocutors.
