The present paper is concerned with a task to estimate the historical contribution of a well-known representative of the classical Russian literature, I.S. Turgenev, to the creation of social cultural organizations that go on to keep and support the Russian World in Paris. At present, investigators have not yet revealed the historical value of public organizations of the Russian World in Paris in its full entirety. The paper outlines the I.S. Turgenev's role of in organization, creation and activity of the Public Library in Paris as a spirit center of the Russian intellectuals. Within the period of Russian emigration up to 1939, they saved the positions of the Russian Center being outside of politics and joining different layers of emigration. The paper also deals with the activity of the Charity Society of Russian Artists in Paris, which became the center of Russian fine arts abroad. In creation of the “Russian home” of artist, I.S. Turgenev took an active part. He developed the Charter and was the secretary of the Society that was based on the Turgenev's personal support and his contacts with the French elite. The organization has played the most important role in popularizing the Russian fine arts abroad.
