The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities and relation of parenting stress and life satisfaction in mothers of young and preschool children. Methods: “Parenting Stress Index-4” (PSI-4) by R. Abidin, questionnaire “Life satisfaction” by E. Diener, questionnaire “Marriage satisfaction” by Yu. Alyoshina, socio-biographical questionnaire. The study involved 147 mothers of young and preschool children. A close relationship was revealed between life satisfaction, satisfaction with the material situation and professional activity of mothers of young and preschool children with parenting stress in the sphere of parents; marital satisfaction is associated with parenting stress both in the parent domain and the child domain. Life satisfaction is a predictor of overall parenting stress. A comparative analysis of women with low, medium and high levels of life satisfaction showed that women with a low level are characterized by a higher level of general parenting stress, primarily due to a higher level in the parent domain, and such characteristics as depression and isolation.
