The article analyzes the image of the "little man" in the works of A. p. Chekhov in the works "Enemies", "Trouble", "Chamber No. 6" from the point of view of the General tradition inherent in all previous Russian literature, as well as from the position of the originality of A. p. Chekhov in the interpretation of this image.
