The neurotropic activity of a new aminoethanol derivative with butanediol and trans-ethylene-l,2-dicarboxylic acid, (2E)-4-[2-(diethylamino)ethoxyl-4-oxo- but-2-ene butanedtoate (2 : 1), has been studied during course peroral introduction (10 mg/kg) in rats with experimental cerebral ischemia caused by bilateral permanent occlusion of both common carotid arteries. The animals were tested with respect to orientation-exploratory behavior and coordination of movements in rotarod and open-field tests. The new agent activity was comparable with that of reference drugs citicoline (500 mg/kg) and cytoflavin (170 mg/kg).
