Based on the statistics provided by Rosstat, the number of forest fires tends to grow every year. This is primarily due to the human
factor. The article deals with the problem of the occurrence and spread of forest fires on the territory of modern Russia, describes the
problems arising in the legislative solution of this issue on the example of court cases, and also suggests methods and ways to solve the
tasks. Judicial practice was reviewed, liability measures were studied. When writing a scientific article, the legislative framework and the
experience gained during the study of this issue were applied.
