The article is devoted to insertconstructions in A. I. Solzhenitsyn's story "One day of Ivan Denisovich". The specified constructionsare considered in various aspects: the features of their structural organization, their place in the sentence, the ways of their setting off in writing, the functions that insert constructions perform in the story. A conclusion is drawn that insert constructions are used first of all to describeprison camp life through the perception of the main character.
