The article presents research findings of the issues relevant to the culture of the Arctic region: role of the indigenous peoples in the development of the Arctic zone, innovative development scenarios for the Arctic, transformation of the mythological consciousness (from the perspective of Jaspers’ ideas), a strategy for the sustainable development of modern civilization initiating harmonization of civilizational development and natural environment preservation, sustainable growth and regional ontologies, role in the assessment of civilizational theories of organicism. A conclusion is drawn about the contribution of philosophy of culture to the development of sustainable growth strategy.
