The article analyzes the values context of the updated Constitution of the Russian Federation in 2020. The prerequisites for reforming the Basic law of Russia are studied. The article describes the characteristics of values as the ideological and spiritual basis of the cultural and political development of the Russian society. Political practices are studied using systematic and cognitive approaches, methods of induction, observation, comparison, and historical method. At the interdisciplinary level, a political science analysis of the priorities of Russia's internal and foreign policy at the stage of its recent political history is made. The characteristics of the Russian political reality are studied and its transformations are revealed. The resources of Russia's long-term state development are disclosed, taking into account the increasing potential of its influence on world politics and international relations.
