Analysis of the current geopolitical situation in Eurasia shows the presence of
several integration and disintegration projects competing with each other. The most detailed
ideological basis is only found in the disintegration project of a truly Eurasian scale—the Eurasian
system of arcs of instability. Its essence is to create conditions that prevent the emergence of
a competitor capable of challenging the dominance of the United States.
Alternative projects of an integration nature actively compete with each other and, at the
same time, have a pronounced regional character. In this context, an obvious gap is recorded
between the actual absence of an ideology attractive to most of the remaining sovereign subjects
of Eurasian geopolitics and their attempts to build their own zones of influence at the regional
level. They enter into competition both with each other and with the plans of partners who are
traditionally suspicious of plans to create independent centers of power and accordingly react
robustly to the desire of geopolitical opponents to achieve ideological, military and economic
domination.
The plans for the implementation of integration projects are being carried out in the interests
of the most powerful Eurasian subjects, against whom influential “players” immediately activate
regional and global actors.
In this context, modern Eurasia turns into a hybrid “battlefield”, where every year an
increasingly tougher hybrid struggle is waged without observing any rules, mainly by proxy.
The strengthening of this trend is facilitated by the foreign and domestic policies of small and
medium-sized countries of Eurasia, which, under the guise of “multi-vector” work, in fact, within
the “prisoner’s dilemma”, thus allowing competitors to pursue the “divide and rule” strategy
without much trouble. (References 16 titles).
