The article discusses the fundamentals of the activities and functions of the Kokand branch of the State Bank opened in 1893. The authors, based on archival data, prove that the financial institutions of the Russian Empire took into account local specifics and encouraged the production of export-oriented products. The authors in the article actively use interbank correspondence, the annual reports of the director of the branch, as well as the materials of the audit of the Kokand branch. For the first time in historiography, the active and passive operations of the bank are investigated, the expenses and profits of the bank are analyzed.
