In the article, the author examines the position of the court in verification proceedings in the criminal proceedings of the Czech Republic. Among the main characteristics, the author analyzes what role the court plays in the proceedings on complaints, appeals, objections, cassations, complaints about violation of the law, as well as on a motion to resume proceedings. After analyzing the content and limits of the court's activities, the author concludes about the position of the court and its powers, which are expressed in the fact that the court is dominus litits of verification proceedings aimed at reviewing the final decisions in a criminal case, is connected with the arguments of the complaint, has the right to exercise limited subject matter of the complaint proof in extraordinary remedies. The activities of the court in verification proceedings are structured and include the stages of checking the admissibility of the complaint, considering the complaint on the merits and resolving the complaint. All activities of the court in verification proceedings are aimed at identifying and eliminating errors of factual, legal and procedural. This makes it possible to guarantee the achievement of the objectives of the criminal process. At the same time, the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic in verification proceedings sets examples of proper law enforcement, which is its main function to ensure the country's law and order.
