The article studies the identity of Russian citizens, correlates "horizontal" (multi-dimensional) and "vertical" (existential) vectors of the identity. The main object of the research is the value conversion in the Russian society, where ideal and real hierarchy of values of representatives of different social classes and groups substitute each other: the ethnic value becomes an economic one, the social becomes a religious, and the existential becomes an everyday.
