This article analyzes the directions of social assistance to families with children with special needs implemented in St. Petersburg by state and non-profit organizations, as well as possible ways of their development. Since the selected category of the population has a special specificity and requires comprehensive consideration of features when working with them, social
assistance should be provided in accordance with these aspects, be multilateral.
