The article is devoted to the creativity of the Dutch artist of the XVII century Jan Martszen the Jounger, a representative of the battle genre. A stylistic comparison of the artistic method of J. Martszen with the creativity of his contemporaries is carried out. The author analyzes his works in the context of the evolution of the battle theme at the Dutch painting.
