Commentary to the ECHR Judgment in Belova v. Russia, no. 33955/08, 15 September 2020The article offers a critical analysis of the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights on a case related to recovery of immovable property by the State on the eve of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. The author points out a number of controversial issues which may cast doubt on the soundness of the Court’s conclusion that there has been no violation of the Convention in the case at hand.
