The problem of using audiovisual materials in teaching Russian as a foreign language is discussed in the article. The article emphasizes importance of using video materials during preuniversity course and advantages of video materials comparing to other teaching tools. The author shares experience in using authentic teletext. Following topics are discussed in the article: course model and steps-by-step guide to using video materials; different types of lexical and grammatical exercises (verbs of motion, imperative mood, question words) to improve students skills in talking and audition, as well as real life communication in Russian language; video clips examples based on «Yeralash»TV show. A special focus is put on using speech etiquette.
