In this article, the authors consider the legal prospects for the protection of cultural heritage objects during armed conflicts. It is assumed that the obligation to protect cultural heritage objects must be legally formalized in international law. It is proposed to strengthen the capacity of member States to prevent, reduce and eliminate the damage caused to cultural heritage and diversity as a result of conflict, to include the protection of culture in humanitarian activities, strategies in the field of world security by interacting with relevant stakeholders outside the sphere of culture.
