Analyzing both dadannudd and tellach as counterparts of the normal ritual action used to claim land by hereditary right, the author takes an evidence from outside the both tracts on tellach anddadannudd. Concentrating on the first phase of tellach, he underlines a shift from the boundary of land, marked by the graves to the 343grave stones served as a boundaries. An argument turns on details at specific local practices in Ireland while the function of the ogham stones was intensively changed during the VII century and at later temporal developments in Wales.
