The article analyses the image of the Russian woman through the paremiological world picture. In comparison with modern society, previously women were largely limited and dependent on men, as evidenced by Russian folk proverbs and sayings. And the domination of the patriarchal culture in language contributes to the development and establishment of androcentrism.
