Due to global warming the climate within the Second ridge of the Crimean mountains changes. The site of Crimean geological field training of St. Petersburg University is situated here. The past twelve years (1998-2009) were the warmest for the entire observation period (from 1929). Comparison of average annual temperatures of two periods (1998-2009 and 1929-1965) indicates the rise of temperature at 1,27° C. At present, there is a temperature increase of 0,37° C/10 years, mainly through August, and to a lesser extent through March and June. The mean value of the annual precipitation during the observation period from 1998 till 2009 is 560 mm (116% of the rate in 1939-1965). From 1998 up to present time, there is a negative trend in rainfall (with the dynamics of about 1 mm/year) mainly through June. The area belongs to the zone of insufficient humidity. The climate is semi-continental with the trend to decrease.
