Spectral analysis has been applied to study the time- and space-series of snow accumulation obtained by stake measurements at Vostok station (Antarctica). The intermediate-scale surface undulations drifting across the stake field are found to be primary responsible for the oscillations of snow accumulation recorded at a single point. Application of the results to the stratigraphie studies is discussed.
