This study focuses on the analysis of the passive voice forms in the modern Turkish and English languages. The research is carried out within the framework of a comparative typological approach, when the meanings and functioning of these forms are compared with each other in order to clarify common and distinct features. As a result, it becomes clear that despite the different type of languages and different plane of expression, the Turkish and English passive have many similarities in speech usage. Both forms are productive, have two meanings: passive and indefinite-personal, and can be used in sentences with or without an expressed agent.
