N2 - This article discusses the phenomenon of intangible cultural heritage, gives a description of its objects in Latin America: crafts, dances, music, traditional cuisine. The intangible heritage forms a sense of community, identity, continuity among the population, contributes to the development of creativity and social well-being, and contributes to the management of the natural and social environment. The article considers the most significant objects of the intangible cultural heritage of Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Mexico. The article presents the specifics and problems of preserving the traditional folk culture of the countries of the region, which is extremely rich in a variety of languages, beliefs, holidays, music and dances. Latin American countries represent a wide range of folk art through which the culture of peoples, beliefs, rites, and crafts is manifested. The problems of preserving Latin American folklore are extremely urgent, as it focuses on the oral way of transmitting information for future generations.
