The research is aimed at studying the characteristics and the relationship of paternal attachment to the child before and after birth. The study involved 117 men at the stages before and 6-9 months after the childbirth. Techniques: Paternal antenatal attachment scale by J. Condon, Paternal postnatal attachment scale by J. Condon, the projective technique “Family Drawing”. The study showed higher then average level of attachment to the child in men before his birth and an average level of attachment to the child after his birth. The analysis also revealed a moderate link of the relationship to the child in the prenatal and postnatal period.
