The result of a comparative analysis of the philosophical and aesthetic positions of V.V. Nabokov and I. S. Shmelev undertaken in the article can be considered as recognition of their initiallydesignated antitetism, as well as the discovery of the relativity of these poles, which is manifested in some of the “leveling” trendsnoted in the article.
