The issue of respect for human rights in the DPRK is one of the most discussed in the Western world. It is generally accepted that in the DPRK human rights are “violated”. However, in North Korea itself, the view of the issue of human rights is different. To clarify it, special pamphlets are published in the DPRK. They indicate that human rights can= not be viewed in isolation from the features of the political system, his= tory, traditions and customs of each individual nation. For the DPRK, in the context of the issue of “human rights”, the most important are the tasks of ensuring national independence, sovereignty and national dignity. In addition, the question of correlation between role (rights) of an individual and the collective is also one of the basic in implementation of the national concept of human rights.
