The objective of this study is to investigate the history of the village Zürichtal (current Golden Field), former German-speaking colony of Swiss settlers in the Crimea, according to field research and work in the State Archive of the Republic of Crimea. The processes taking place in this language community as a result of geopolitical and social changes of the modern era, have not been studied neither historical nor a sociolinguistic point of view.
