This article discusses the main results of the battle of Chaeronea for the opposing sides. According to the author, the defeat of the Greek States, despite all the severity, was still not final, primarily due to the broad composition of the anti-Macedonian coalition, the presence of serious defensive lines and the predominance of the sea. Only the beginning of negotiations between Macedonia and Athens made it hopeless for other Greek States to resist the ambitions of Philip II.
