The article deals with the phenomenon of hyperreflexion, describing for the first time its functional manifestations in the personality development. The related constructs, productive and non-productive roles of reflexion in a person's life are described. A phenomenological description of hyperreflexion as a form of human interaction with the world is given. A theoretical definition of the hyperreflexion phenomenon is proposed. The paper presents the data and conclusions of the content-analysis of the hyperreflexion concept in two groups of respondents: 30 participants without psychological education; 10 experts with psychological education and experience in psychological counseling. The empirical data of the content-analysis of the respondents in both groups, generally confirms the proposed definition of the hyperreflexion phenomenon. The revealed characteristics include: excessive tracing of one's experiences, concentration on the inner world, self-absorption, compulsiveness of self-analysis, absence of changes, absence of the actual subject of reflection, excessive aspiration to cognition of oneself. Questions of further study of the phenomenon of hyperreflexion are posed.
