The article deals with the problem of legal counteraction to family violence in the Russian Federation. The readers are invited to analyze the results of an expert and analytical study on the topic «Prevention of crimes in the sphere of family and domestic relations in Russia and abroad: legislative regulation and law enforcement practice», conducted in 2019 by scholars of St. Petersburg State University (lawyers, sociologists,
psychologists) as part of the implementation of the contract with the State Duma of the Russian Federation, reports on monitoring the application of criminal law prepared by experts of the Domestic Violence Research Centre of SPb State University . The assessment of current state and trends of countering domestic violence in the Russian Federation is given.
