In this paper, the author considered the main issues of chronology, culture and military everyday life in the Arkhangelsk region during the Great Patriotic war. In addition, there was an analysis of the works of Soviet and Russian historians on the role of the Arkhangelsk region during the war, as well as statistical data on mortality and fertility in the region. In the article, the author described the life of the inhabitants of the Soviet Pomerania based on the memories of the teacher Philadelphia Parshinsky, and also provided information about her relatives - participants of the great Patriotic war. As a result of the research, the author made a conclusion about the importance of the city and region in the Great Patriotic war, referring to the data of cargo deliveries to the USSR under the "lend-lease" program.
