The objectives of this article is a comprehensive analysis and critical assessment of the existing regulatory framework in the field of strategic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, as well as proposals for its improvement. The objectives of the study are to identify the problems of sustainable development of the region in the context of the international legal concept of sustainable development. The paper concluded that the current development strategy of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation social, economic and environmental aspects are not coordinated with each other. At the same time, the lack of comprehensive legislative regulation in the field of sustainable development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation makes its practical implementation problematic.
