The article is devoted to the analysis of the role of US President Woodrow Wilson in the creation of a new system of international relations that took shape after the First World War. The conflict of points of view of Democrats and Republicans regarding the position of the United States in the post-war world order is shown. An assessment by public figures of W. Wilson's contribution to the implementation of American foreign policy in 1916-1921 is presented.
