The article examines the problems of the impact of social policy on the system of management of the national economy. Attention is drawn to the fact that the model of economic development of a social state, to which Russia belongs, should be more oriented towards the full development of the public sector, which not only serves as a damper during economic crises, but also largely humanizes the market economy. Proper social policy eliminates the so-called “market failures”, forms a conscious attitude to work and increases the manageability of the national economy. It is proved that the social activities of the state (state financing of R & D and education, the creation of jobs, the preservation and development of culture, environmental protection, etc.) as well as the social responsibility of business create the socio-dynamic multiplier of national economic growth.
