The article considers a new trend in the use of the definite article in the case of a nominal predicate expressed by a noun in Norwegian language. Considering this phenomenon from the position of a field approach, the authors explain the use of the definite article by the fact that the person designated by the subject most fully embodies the qualities expressed by the nominal part of the predicate. This is consistent with the use of the definite article with evaluative nouns in vocatives.
