Two geochemical types of basalts are found among upper Jatulian extrusive trapps of Central Karelia. The rocks of the first type are distinguished by high contents of FeO and TiO2 and incompatible elements Zr, Nb, Hf, Ta and REE. They have geochemical features, which make them similar to middle Jatulan rocks. On the contrary, rocks of the second, geochemical type are characterized by low contents of the same elements, and they have similar affinities with subsequent basalts and dolerites of the lower Ludikovian.
