The report analyzes the views of Catholicism on the current situation of urban life. Addressing the topic of urbanism, the Holy See combines the medieval experience of mendicant orders' preaching among the townspeople with its own vision of the city's problems. In the 2015 encyclical, the current pontiff puts forward a number of provisions aimed at transforming certain aspects of urban life, including the layout of the city, creating a sense of belonging among the residents to each other and their settlement and changing the urban landscape. The most important message of the Catholic Church is to create an image of the city as a space shared with other people which is in a harmony with nature.
