The article is dedicated to the problem of perception of the medieval Gothic art and its symbolic representation in the poetry of Alexander Blok. The materials of memorial and biographic character and Blok’s books from his personal library, that were saved in the Institute of Russian Literature (the Pushkin House), Russian Academy of Sciences, are considered in the article. The elements of neo-Gothic poetics in “Ante Lucem” (1898-1900), “Verses about the Beautiful Lady” (1901-1902) and “Italian verses” (1909) are analyzed.
