Article is devoted to a research of one of the most interesting persons - the phenomena of culture and art of the XX century - Gertrude Stein. The name of this woman is inseparably linked with various art, political and ideological practicians of the past century. The discrepancy and ambiguity of its actions, acts and statements and also literary experiments of Gertrude Stein allow to claim that in her face other was successfully realized, nonclassical, model of existence and development of art. Not the presentation of the work subject, but formation of a certain socially resonant effect due to purposeful and conscious operation of problems and plots relevant at the moment was the essential moment of such approach to culture.
