The authors perform a contrastive analysis of the syntactic systems of two agglutinative languages, Japanese and Turkish, focusing on Turkish ezafes. The study shows that there are counterparts of these attributive syntactic patterns in Japanese, some of which emerged, apparently, as a result of the influence of the Chinese language on Japanese.
