The purpose of the study is to identify the status of the contemporary international legal regulation of the use of information systems, including artificial intelligence and Big data. Methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization, problem-theoretical, formal-logical and system-structural approach were used in the study. As a result, it is revealed that the principles of international law form the basis of legal regulation of international information relations, including those related to the development of ICT and information systems, and establish a system of guidelines that States and non-state actors follow in international relations. The development of ICT has an impact on the formation of a system of special principles of international information law. However, the development of ICT does not diminish the role and importance of the existing special principles.
