The article dwells on the speech tactics and linguistic means, which are associated with the manifestation of the aggressive state of communicators in dialogues / polylogues on socio-political topics. In linguistics, there are still no generally accepted definitions and classifications of linguistic means expressing verbal aggression. The purpose of this article is to identify the tactics in the situations of verbal aggression used by interview participants in the radio programs “Personally Yours” and “Special Opinion” on the radio station “Ekho Moskvy”, as well as to analyze the verbal and non-verbal means of expressing aggression employed by dialogue participants. The following methods were used in the study: the analytico-synthetical method, the contextual analysis method and the method of audit analysis. The Programs of the radio station “Ekho Moskvy” were selected via the continuous sampling method. Four main types of verbal aggression have been identified and considered: explicit-transitive, explicit-intransitive, implicit-transitive and implicit-intransitive. Based on the analysis of the dialogue fragments under study it has been established that discussion of socio-political problems mainly involves 2 tactics of expression of verbal aggression - attack and provocation and 3 tactics of countering verbal aggression - confrontation, ignoring and suppression. The degree of verbal aggression depends on whether diametrically opposite points of view on the event under discussion are possible and whether the interlocutors are opponents. It is concluded that the guests of the studio “Personally Yours” to a lesser extent resort to verbal aggression than the participants of the program “Special Opinion”.
