The paper looks at social psychological characteristics of migrants in different migration stages: potential emigrants, actual emigrants, re-emigrants. A comparative analysis of values and dominant ethnic tendencies in different stages of migration has demonstrated significant differences in the structure of value choices, dominant ethnic tendencies and sociocultural distances. The findings can help to predict the degree of success in emigrants adjustment to a new sociocultural environment.
